about

From his childhood in Toronto, to his New York City school-years, from his risqué nightlife of Tel Aviv, to his seclusion in the hills of Galilee, Allan Moon’s story is that of adventure. Both lyrically and musically, his new album Children of the Call , tells the tale of a lone man who’s crossed the world with a loaded pen and guitar.

Each track is a journey to a different realm: Folk, Rhythm n’ Blues, Funk and Psychdelic. Israel’s finest Indie artists have magically come together to canvas Moon’s delivery, each one a mammoth in their own right:

Geva Alon, Uzi Ramirez, UBK (Boom Pam), Ophir Kutiel (Kutiman), Eyal Talmudi (Balkan Beat Box), Nitzan Horesh (Electra), Karolina and many more …

Moon’s songs are direct, unapologetic, at times sentimental and at times plain explicit. The title track ”Children of the Call” is a rock anthem crying out for a youth revolt, written amidst the Arab Spring. Nostalgic songs like “New York City”, “Sister Daphna” and “Oh Michael” (written in memory of Michael Jackson.) There’s the opening “Brainwashed”, where Moon tackles religion and modern society. While “Bodyless” is an 8+ minute Prog saga, caught between spirituality and apocalypse.
